A Good Moral Code

I worship principles, but rarely groups – even groups that profess to follow the principles I embrace.

  • Love thy neighbor.
  • Turn the other cheek.
  • Cause no harm.
  • Commit no homicide for any reason.
  • Steal not from moral people or if you may get caught.
  • Cause no harm – especially to moral people or if you may suffer.
  • Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  • Avoid the use of logical fallacies.
  • Do not bear false witness.
  • Do not punish.
  • Do not be judge, jury and executioner.
  • Do not encourage or support those breaking these principles. Love yes, but support reluctantly if at all.
  • Advocate and sacrifice for those supporting these principles.
  • Speak in a way that all must agree is true.
  • Make sources visible.
  • Be polite to all.
  • Don’t waste time on those seeking to waste your time.
  • Stay healthy.
  • Pick your battles wisely.
  • Build alliances with those in agreement with these principles.
  • Don’t make unnecessary enemies.
  • Don’t enable evil.
  • Support restitution.
  • Support fairness.
  • Support minimal prophylaxis.
  • Don’t escalate force or maximize harm.
  • The best defense is good morality and fairness to all.
  • The best defense is not unfettered aggression.
  • Nice guys are supposed to finish first.  Make it so.  Nice guys will reward you.
