Sports, The Arts and Games
Utopians love sports, the arts, music, games, religion and helping others.
They are first and foremost participants and secondly are avid spectators.
Whereas in the capitalistic world the star athletes make $20 million a
year and other talented athletes make little or nothing, In Utopia the
star athletes make $200,000 and beginning athletes make $20,000. A thousand
athletes enjoy each sport in Utopia for every athlete in the non Utopian
world.
This not only makes each sport more exciting, but this makes the athletes
better. Athletes that never had the time to develope their talent now do.
Advancement in a sport are no longer dependant on luck, staying healthy,
or politics. Now the athletes with desire, dedication and perserverence
also rise.
A star athlete will be just as happy competing at wages of $200,000 a year
as for $20,000,000 a year. It isn't opulent wealth that makes the star
athlete compete, it's the love of the game. What aggravates star athletes
is that other athletes that they don't consider as good are, perhaps, making
more. It is only the athletes pride that needs satisfaction, not his greed.
The star athlete, after a few years, can leave for the opulent wealth of
major capitalistic nations.
Artists, chessplayers, actors and actresses, musicians, writers and others
are encouraged in a similar way. There is no such thing as a starving artist
or athlete in Utopia. Utopians love the arts and sports.
